Blood is Life

Unbeknownst to the human population vampires, werewolves and witches exist in secret in the world. They move around in secret, mostly keeping to themselves though some do try and blend in with the humans at times. There are seven vampire clans ruled over by one royal family, the Romanovs. For centuries they lived in peace, resolving their clan issues amongst themselves though in the midst of the ongoing war with the werewolves one clan, the Ivanovs have been secretly gathering support from other clan members as well as from the wolves and witches in attempts to overthrow the royal family and take over ruling their kind. Now the royals have an all out war both outside of their lands as well as inside the community walls. Given the Romanovs power they've managed to maintain their rule, not to mention they are the sole surviving royal line of the last vampire war.

Queen Alexandria and Roman Moskowitz were lovers when they were younger though she was forbidden to make him her King. Instead she was forced to marry Vladimir though she continued to see Roman in secret. After Rayna was born, however, and Alexandria discovered that Roman was really her father she stopped seeing Roman and passed Rayna off as Vladimir's daughter. This led to Roman turning against the royals and taking over rule of the Ivanov clan, turning them against the Royals as well. He convinced his brother, Yvan, who'd been a part of the Belakov clan defending the boarders against the werewolves to turn against them as well which led to his own banishment and being torn away from his family. Roman will stop at nothing to see that Alexandria either steps down or is killed so that their daughter, Rayna can become Queen in the hopes that he might influence her. Rayna, however, doesn't want to believe that Roman is her father despite what he said and her mothers reluctant confirmation. She also wants nothing to do with him or becoming Queen, but would rather be free to live her own life as she sees fit with Dimitri, her Guardian with whom she's having a secret love affair as they are forbidden to be together.

The Werewolves, particularly the Wolsky pack who had once controlled Alexandrov and it's surrounding lands before being nearly completely destroyed by the Vampires and run out, banished from their own lands, will stop at nothing to regain control of their lands. With their numbers greatly increased and especially with the aid of the Volkov coven of witches they've teamed up with along with the Ivanovs their hopes have been renewed in doing exactly that. Little do they know that Roman, the leader of the Ivanov Clan has no intention of giving them back their lands as he'd promised them but instead plans on betraying them once they've served their purpose.

Given the Royal's close knit ties to the Krasimir Coven of witches, especially that Rayna happens to have a psychic connection to their leader, Lidiya, their enemies will have a greater force than they expect. While Roman knows about Lidiya, he knows nothing about the strength of her coven and therefore has greatly underestimated what they're going up against.
