Confuoco
Confuoco could almost feel it.
The rush of the winds stirred his mane, lifting white strands playfully before allowing them to fall back onto his muscled neck. Walking along the damp sand Fuoco's hooves left large prints behind him to mark his trail until the next wave erased them. His nares stretched wide, the stallion caught and held each smell in consideration of this land. The faint scent of salt pervaded everything on the beach but beyond the shoreline Fuoco could see trees and grass growing free from the mineral.
Turning away from the water, he began to trot, instinct driving him towards the territory. The appaloosa had been in search of a place to call home for a short time and had only managed to scout out the lands by the ocean. Unfortunately none of them had been up to snuff and so he doubted that this Wisdom Fief would be any different. That was ok though. He just started looking so it was to be expected that he hadn't found something he liked yet.
As he stepped off of the sand a small sigh of relief escaped him. There was something about the ground shifting under his hooves that unnerved him. Nothing could beat the feeling of solid earth beneath your hooves. A small knot in his shoulder relaxed and his curious blue eyes began to look around in earnest.
Unlike most of the other exceptionally flat lands in Aquitica, this one had small hills which were sprinkled with trees. Slowing himself down to a walk Fuoco inhaled deeply and smiled. This was it.
Fuoco scored the ground with his hoof once before breaking into a canter and soon after that a full on gallop. Whipping through the trees, the leopard equine raced through his new home. Foliage passed him in a blur, but he didn't stop. There would be plenty of time for him to slowly explore ever inch of the Fief, but now was not that moment. Muscles pulling and contracting, Fuoco raced through a shallow stream sending up a cascade of water splashing up to darken his coat.
Finally he drew to the top of the largest hill he could find and skidded to a stop. Heart racing, Fuoco lifted himself up and sent out a loud trumpeting cry. This was his land now and the world would know.
